William Standridge

JEFFERSON – William Dwight Standridge, 54, died Thursday, September 16, 2010.

Born in Commerce, he was the son of Ruby Worley Standridge of Jefferson and the late Harold Standridge. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church. Mr. Standridge was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Branson Dowdy.

Survivors including his mother, are wife, Wanda Norton Standridge, Jefferson; a son, Matthew Standridge, Jefferson; daughter, Melissa (Jon) Henry, Jefferson; grandchildren, Kayla and Zachery Henry, Jefferson; brother, Deryl Standridge, Hartwell; sisters-in-law, Gail Standridge, Commerce, and Mandy McElroy, Jefferson; mother and father-in-law, Elaine and Harry Norton, Seneca, S.C.; mother-in-law, Sandra Dowdy, Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 19, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike McLemore officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. and after the service.

Those desiring to make memorials may do so by giving to the American Cancer Society or the charity of one’s choice.
