GAINESVILLE – Raymond Donald Reed, 63, died Thursday, September 16, 2010, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born on December 15, 1946, he was the son of the late Glenn J. and Lillie Glass Reed in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church and The Christian Motorcycle Association.
Survivors include his loving wife of over 46 years, Wyolene Pirkle Reed, Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Michelle Reed, Cleveland and Larry and Amy Reed, Arlington, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dr. Tony Watson, Suwanee; grandchildren, Forrest, Lilly, Jeremiah, Ashley, Alyssa, Alexa and Joshua; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn C. and Carolyn Reed, Lula.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, at 2 p.m., at the Blackshear Place Baptist Church with the Rev. James Mills and Sunday School teacher and friend, Doug Bonds, officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood City Cemetery. Mr. Reed will lie in state from 1:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, September 17, from 6 to 8 p.m.
