ATHENS – Dolly Ivie James, 77, died Friday, September 10, 2010, following an extended illness.
A native of Greene County, she was the daughter of the late William Britt and Clarice O’Neal Ivie. She was a homemaker and member of the Siloam Presbyterian Church. Mrs. James was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Grady James; a son, Jeffrey Brian James; granddaughter, Paige James; and brother, William L. Ivie.
Survivors include children Beverly J. Mote, Demorest, Christopher O. James and his wife Linda, Athens; brother Bobby L. Ivie, Austin, Texas; sisters Elisa Channell, Blairsville, and Peggy Harris, Greensboro; grandchildren, Michaela Mote, Emily Mote, Kristan James, O’Neal Strickland, Brianna James, Betthany James, Lisa Guy, Johnny Farmer and Rebecca Payne; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 14, from the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with the Revs. Swayne Crawford and Tommy Moment officiating. Burial was in the Siloam Cemetery in Siloam.
Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
