HULL – Tracy Lee Tompkins, Jr., 27, died Sunday, September 5, 2010.
Born on August 1, 1983, in Commerce, he was a veteran of the United States Army, serving two tours in Iraq and had earned an Associate's Degree in Business. He was currently attending Piedmont College in Athens.
Survivors include his parents, Tonya and Tracy Lee Tompkins Sr., Lula, Tim and Bonnie Smith George, Covington, and Timmy Anglin, Maysville; sisters, Jill Tompkins and Amber Anglin, both of Commerce, Casey Tompkins and Catilin Tompkins, both of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Abby Tompkins, Lula; brother, Conner Tompkins, Lula; grandmother, Sallie Disharoon, Jasper.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 9, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Harril Millsaps and Phillip Burt officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery. Honored as pallbearers will be Timmy Anglin, Chad Samples, George Tompkins, Scotty Tompkins, Curtis Smith and Kyle Pilgrim. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Smith, Ricky Tompkins and Kyle Samples. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, September 8, from 6 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fund for Tracy Lee Tompkins Jr. at the Pinnacle Bank, 238 South Broad St., Monroe, GA 30655, Acct. # 100009513.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.

Hampton ga is a dangrous place to walk now. there should be a skywalk going over the road. No one can make it to the race track on foot. Every year its getting more dangrous. Im sorry for your lost

I am sorry to hear about this. I used to babysit Lee when he was younger. So sad that he did so much for our country and came home and had such a horrible accident. God Bless your family.
