COLBERT – Jimmy Charles Simmons, 60, died Friday, September 3, 2010, following an extended illness.
Born in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Aubrey and Anne Simmons. He was previously employed by Nakanishi as a machinist and had previously been a Madison County Little League coach. Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by a brother, William Simmons.
Survivors include his wife, Lynne Simmons; sons, Christopher Simmons and Bryan Simmons; sister, Elaine McDonald, Comer; brother, Aubrey “Sonny” Simmons, Bogart; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Almond and Sally Christian and Diana Bennetti all of Loganville, Kenneth and Gale Christian, Dahlonega; mother-in-law, Hannelore Christian, Dahlonega; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 12, at 2 p.m., at Lord & Stephens Danielsville Chapel with the Rev. Terry Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family will be gathering at their prospective residences.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
