JEFFERSON - Hoyt Cecil McGinnis, 80, died Sunday, September 5, 2010.
Born on March 10, 1930, in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Luther and Emma Kelly McGinnis. He was a master painter and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Hall McGinnis, Jefferson; daughters, Barbara Cox and Wanda Jean Jones, both of Jefferson; a son, Douglas McGinnis, Flowery Branch; sister, Wynell Williamson, Lula; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 8, at 3 p.m., from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Swayne Cochran officiating. Burial will be in White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. Honored as pallbearers will be John Cox, Zak Hix, Wayne Jones, Anthony Conner, Andy Tatum and Matthew Watkins. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
