DANIELSVILLE - Betty Jean Peeples Baskins, 72, died Thursday, September 2, 2010, at her residence.
Born in Franklin County on February 16, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ruby Peeples Peeples. She was retired having worked with Reliance Electric in Athens and was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church. Mrs. Baskins was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Peeples; and sisters, Margaret Fortson and Jeanette Adams.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Baskins, Danielsville; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jonathan Burgess, Bowersville; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Joyce Baskins, Lavonia, and Joey and Rebecca Baskins, Danielsville; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Joel Peeples, Canon, and Don Peeples, Dewy Rose; and sisters, June Brooks and Tammy Fitzpatrick, both of Danielsville, Elaine Finley , Helen Bannister, and Linda Rudeseal, all of Royston, Kathy Fowler, Hartwell, and Ellen Matthews, Lexington.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 4, at 2 p.m., from the Evangelical Methodist Church with the Revs. Glenn Lyles, Tim Peek and Melvin Baskins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, September 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The family is at the home.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, is in charge of arrangements.
