Charlene Ortman

COMMERCE – Charlene Ortman, 89, has gone to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 1, 2010.

Born in Grand Rapids, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Pete and Maude Barkley Van Huizen. She was a supervisor with Interstate Motor Freight. Mrs. Ortman was preceded in death by her first husband, William James Davis; second husband, Donald Ortman; son, James H. Davis; and a daughter, Patricia Lynn Davis.

Survivors include daughters, Sandra Gaskins, Commerce, and Charlotte A. Lane, Danville, Pa.; grandchildren, Cheryl Soares, Commerce, Sandra Holbert, Belpre, Ohio, Brenda Bands, Commerce, Billy J. Gaskins Jr., Commerce, Donald G. Gaskins, Ft. Benning, Charlene Hernandez, Buford, Douglas G. Lane, Kinsgton, Pa., Craig A. Lane, Danville, Pa., and Elissa A. Davis, New Brunswick, N.J.; 22 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 3, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, September 2, from 7 to 9 p.m.
