Daniel Matthews

HULL – Daniel Matthews, 61, died Friday, August 27, 2010, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.

Born in Marietta, he was the son of Claudia Eubanks Matthews of Commerce and the late Buck Matthews. He was retired from Jackson EMC and employed at City Tire in Commerce. Mr. Matthews was a veteran having served in the United States Army serving two tours in Vietnam and eight years in the Army.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Donna M. Matthews, Hull; a daughter, Lyndsey Matthews, Hartwell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buckie and Sharon Matthews, Eatonton, Tommy and Jane Matthews, Winder, and Michael Matthews, Commerce; the “only” sister, Lucille Wilson, Commerce; and several nieces and nephews. Daniel was blessed to have several close friends.

Memorial services were held Sunday, August 29, from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Shannon Hayes officiating.
