Robert Jackson “Rabbit” Bridges, 73, died Sunday, July 20, 2008.
Born in Madison County on November 15, 1934, he was the son of the late Grover and Lois Culbertson Bridges. He was a retired truck driver and was Baptist. Mr. Bridges was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by sisters, Irene Maxie and Peggy Donald; and a brother.
Survivors include his wife, Betty House Bridges; sons, Tony Steven “Bo” Bridges; Randy Joe Bridges, Danielsville, and Stanley Robert Bridges, Anderson, S.C.; a daughter, Teresa Whitman, Pendleton, S.C.; sister, Ann Sheridan, Commerce; four grandchildren; one step-grandson; and three great-grandsons.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 23, in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Hicks officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Anderson, S.C., with military honors.
