ALTO – Tommy Edward Garrish, 81, died Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Hall County.
Born on November 22, 1928, in Hall County, he was the son of the late Vadie Wilkerson and Cora Belle Chastain Garrish. He was a retired poultry farmer and was of the Baptist denomination. Mr. Garrish was preceded in death by his wife, Dovie Crocker Garrish; three sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Roger Love, Athens, and Margaret Willette and Randall Liles, all of Alto; sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Judy Garrish and William and Frances Garrish, all of Alto; sisters, Mae Campbell, and Ruby Butler, both of Lula, and Hazel Brown, Roanoke, Va.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 1, at 11 a.m., from the Rock Springs Baptist Church, Rock Springs Rd., Banks County, with the Revs. Bart McMillan and Kenneth McEntire officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, August 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.
