WINDER - Thelma Blakey, 90, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010.
She had resided in Barrow County for most of her life and was the daughter of the late William and Bessie Perkins Barber. Mrs. Blakey was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest C. Blakey; and a daughter, Gayle Blakey.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Ben W. Kelley, Jr., Tucker; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Cynthia Blakey; grandson and wife, Justin and Leigh Blakey; and great-grandson, Elijah Blakey, all of Anderson, S.C.
A graveside service will be held, Friday, August 27, at 2 p.m., from Rose Hill Cemetery in Winder. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, August 27, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m.
The family would prefer that memorials be made to The Rainey Hospice of The Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621-2278.
Carter Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
