HOSCHTON – Tony S. Maddox, 61, died Sunday, August 22, 2010.
He was the son of the late Clayborn and Ann James Maddox. He had resided in Barrow County most of his life and he and his wife owned and operated Barrow Pharmacy in Statham. He was a 1974 graduate of The University of Georgia School of Pharmacy, attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and was a veteran having served in the United States Coast Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Hall Maddox, Hoschton; sons and daughters-in-law, Casey and Alana Maddox, Winder, and Clay and Jill Maddox, Hoschton; grandchildren, Hannah Maddox, Audra Maddox and Luke Maddox; sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Steve Collins, Jefferson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 25, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with the Revs. Sammy Everett and David Ash and Mr. Gary Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Bethabra Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, August 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Carter Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
