KNOXVILLE, TENN. – Annie Maude (Fowler) McCombs died Friday, August 20, 2010, in Knoxville, Tenn.
Born in Danielsville on October 8, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Haley and Vira Crowe Fowler. As a military wife, she lived many placed during her life. Many of her years were spent in Norfolk, Va. with her late husband, James L. McCombs. She moved to Knoxville, Tenn. in November, 2002. She was a member and attended the West Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Knoxville. She loved Jehovah God with all her heart. Mrs. McCombs was preceded in death by brothers, George A. Fowler and John Willis Fowler; and infant children, Kenneth, Kevin and Karen Bost.
Survivors include daughters, Carol McElroy (Bernie) and Kay Martin, all of Knoxville, Tenn.; granddaughters, Kim Bonifacius (Johnny), Knoxville, Tenn., Melanie Baker Niblick (Jay), Philadelphia, and Freda Martin, Miami, Fla.; brothers, Banson Fowler, Watkinsville, Gary Fowler, Danielsville; sister, Betty Russell, Athens; great-grandchildren, Zach, Baker and Joe Niblick, Isaac and Grace Hawks and Drew McElroy; and many, many good friends.
On August 20 Annie’s earthly life came to a peaceful end. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten by her family and dear friends. One of the scriptures Annie lived by was Proverbs 3: 5,6. Please take time to read it in her memory.
