COMMERCE – Dale Poulnott, 72, died Thursday, August 19, 2010.
Born in Clarke County, he was the son of the late Jack and Lois Williams Poulnott. He was a member of the United Auto Workers and formerly worked for General Motors Auto Assembly as a forklift driver. Mr. Poulnott was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Gerrin Poulnott; and half-brothers, Jack Poulnott Jr. and Wayne Poulnott.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Lisa Poulnott, Auburn; daughters and sons-in-law, Debroah and Roger Cook, Concord, N.C. and Janice and John Gordon, Commerce; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Doug Gabriel, Statham, George Gabriel and Rickey Gabriel, both of Crawford, Doyle Gabriel and Terry Gabriel, both of Fairbanks, Alaska, Danny Gabriel, Jasper; sisters, Geneva Stamey, Helen, Teresa Lowen, Martin, and Donnal Poulnott, Greensboro.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 21, from Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. James Dumas officiating. Burial was in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Red Cross Association or the American Cancer Society.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
