JEFFERSON – Bernice Beatrice Hicks, 69, died Sunday, August 22, 2010.
Born on June 23, 1941, in Winder, she was the daughter of the late William and Bell Hardy Hanson. She was retired from the Jefferson Mills. Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her husband, Billy John Hicks Sr.; and brothers, James and Talmadge Hanson. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother loved ones stated.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Lynn and Jerry Jackson, Martin, and Wanda Hicks, Jefferson; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Linda Hicks and Billy John and Crystal Hicks, all of Jefferson, Thomas Hicks, Texas; sisters, Ruby Glass, Jefferson, and Ann Griffin, Winder; brothers, Robert Hanson and William Hanson, both of Winder, and Charles Hanson, Jefferson; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 25, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery in Jefferson with James Griffin, Brian Hanson, Jason Page, Clay Pursley, Clay Hicks and Zach Lunsford serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
