Patrick Mooney

PENDERGRASS – John Patrick Mooney, 68, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010.

Born on May 25, 1942, in Gainesville, he was the son of the late John Newton and Jessie Sims Mooney. He worked as a foreman in a machine shop and was a member of the St. Paul Methodist Church in Gainesville.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Ronald Bryant, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Dawn Mooney, Pendergrass; sister and brother-in-law, Carole and David Bishop, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Josh Bryant, Brandon Baker, Brianna Baker, Kyle Mooney, Katlyn Mooney, Dustin Rowland, Austin Rowland; and eight nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 19, at 5:30 p.m., in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, August 19, from 4 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jackson County Humane Society, P.O. Box 567, Jefferson, GA 30549, or to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Rd., Athens, GA 30605.
