Horace Lee Allen, 71, of Lula, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Born in Hall County on April 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Lee and Floranell Pless Allen. He was the owner and operator of Allen’s Body Shop with over 50 years of service to the community and was Baptist. He loved to restore antique autos and was an avid Braves fan, loved ones stated. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Allen.
Survivors include his wife, Estelle Wiley Allen, Lula; a daughter, Lynn Redmon, Commerce; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Lisa Allen, Lula; brother and sister-in-law, Denver and Florene Allen, Murrayville; sister-in-law, Betty Allen, Gainesville; grandchildren, Logan, Kelsey and Dane Allen, all of Lula, and Ashley Wilson and Nikki Robinson, both of Commerce; grandson and spouse, Trey and Kimberly Allen, Lula; and great-granddaughter, Makenzie Allen, Lula; and a niece, Vickie Stover, Murrayville.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, at the Clemmons Chapel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Bobby Griffin and Jerry Cameron officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, was in charge of arrangements.
