ROYSTON – Emma “Boots” Shoemaker McKee, 70, died Friday, August 6, 2010, at the Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston.
Born in Lexington, N.C., on June 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Everette and Edna Spears Shoemaker. She was a retired secretary and was of the Presbyterian Faith. Mrs. McKee was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Augustus McKee.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Hunt, Royston; son, Marty McKee, Thomasville, N.C.; sister, Betty Harris, Easley, S.C., Teresa Brown, Anderson, S.C., and Connie Pavlasek, Lexington, S.C.; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 9, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Reggie Vaughn officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, August 10, in the Paul’s Chapel Cemetery in Lexington, N.C. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour. The family is at home.
