MARIETTA – Harry Edwin Beck, 62, died Thursday, July 29, 2010.
Born in Clarke County on June 4, 1948, he was the son of the late Claude Andrew Beck Sr. and Francine Brown Beck. He was a self-employed contractor and member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta. He was formerly a member of the Prince Avenue Baptist Church in Athens and the First Baptist Church of Atlanta, where he was a member of both choirs. He was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Beck was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Adams.
Survivors include his wife, Vonnie Graham Beck, Marietta; brothers, Claude Beck Jr., Nebraska, Charles Winfred Beck, Comer, and Sammy Beck, Marietta; sisters, Patricia Sewell, Athens, and Marie Richards, Gainesville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 2, at 4 p.m., from the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Olds officiating.
