FLOWERY BRANCH – Joan Holcomb, 57, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.
She received her Bachelor of Science Degree at Trenton State College in New Jersey and completed the Master’s Program at the University of Tennessee. Joan worked in the transplant department of Emory Hospital. She was an accomplished sailor and past commodore of Lake Lanier Sailing Club and Barefoot Sailing Club. She shared a love for her Lord and served as organist of the Flowery Branch United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, E. Dean Holcomb, Flowery Branch; and a sister-in-law, Connie Sears, Flowery Branch.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 31, at 2 p.m., from the Flowery Branch United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Ingram officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 noon to 2 p.m.
Memorial Park South Funeral Home, Flowery Branch, is in charge of arrangements.
