STATHAM - Beatrice Kinney, died Sunday, July 25, 2010.
Born on June 28, 1914, in Jackson County, she was the fifth of eight children to the late Deacon Robert (Bob) Hunter and Mary Lou Sims Hunter. All siblings preceded her in death, except for one sister.
At the age of seventeen, she joined Fairfield Baptist Church in Statham. She was a faithful and devoted member, even after her health began to fail. She taught school for 35 years in Jackson County. Mrs. Kinney was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Deacon Frank A. Kinney. To this union they were blessed with one son.
Survivors include son, Douglas Ralph Kinney (Mamie); grandsons, Dexter A. Kinney and Eric M. Kinney (Vicky); granddaughter, Ericka M. Kinney, all of Statham; stepgranddaughters, Christina Taylor, Athens, and CaTina Taylor-Kinney, McDonough; sister, Mrs. Muzette Singleton, Canton, Ohio; brother-in-law, Mr. Jessie Kinney (Susie), Westgate, Fla.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Fairfield Baptist Church on Friday, July 30. Burial was in the Greater Barber Creek Cemetery in Statham.
