BUFORD – Emory Bruce, 84, died Sunday, July 25, 2010.
Born on March 17, 1926, in Buford, he was retired from General Motors Assembly Plant in Doraville after 30 years of service and was a member of the U.A.W. Local 10. He was also a tree surgeon, an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, a Dale Earnhardt fan, and was a member and deacon of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Buford.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lucille Sanders Bruce, Buford; a daughter, Evelyn Butler, Braselton; sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Shirley Bruce, Lavonia, Wayne Bruce, Blue Ridge, and Joe and Holly Bruce, Cumming; nine grandchildren, Danny Bruce, Amanda Holt, Matthew Bruce, Johnny Hall, Carmen Bruce, Candice Bruce, Christa Bruce, Guinn Warbington and Kevin Warbington; three great-grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Bruce Terry, Suwanee; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Leonard (Dorothy) Bruce, Norcross, and Mrs. Jasper (Dorothy) Bruce, Duluth; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 28, at 4 p.m., at Shoal Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Frankie Southerland and Jerry Crocker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, July 27, from 4 to 9 p.m.
