Ray Ferguson

Ray Ferguson, 83, of Winder, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, at his residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Barrow County, he was the son of the late Luther and Delia Ash Ferguson. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church and was a retired residential contractor. Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Ferguson; and a granddaughter, Julie Jacks.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ferguson, Winder; children, Becky Bates, Ooltewah, Tenn., Nancy Ferguson, Jon Ferguson and Stacey Ferguson, all of Winder; a sister, Kate Bishop, Ft. Oglethorpe; six grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 26, in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Pass officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Carter Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
