HULL – Rachel Burt Jenkins Shepard, 74, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010.
A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Dalton and Rachel Burt Jenkins. She retired from Oconee County School System after many years of teaching and also served as counselor at Oconee County High School.
Survivors include children, Mollie Shepard Neufeld, Hull, and Stanley Jenkins Shepard, Athens; a brother, Van Dalton Jenkins, Folsom, La.; grandson, Ross Dalton Neufeld; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, July 25, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Madison County Library or the Medical College of Georgia.
