DANIELSVILLE – William David Embry, 67, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
Born in Royston, he was the son of the late Olis David and Reatha Brooks Embry. He retired from Harris Trucking after 10 years and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Embry; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Angie Embry, Colbert; grandchildren, Kendra and Karissa Embry; special nieces and nephews, Michelle Thomas, Cathy Elrod, Bruce and David Moon; as well as a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 22, at 11:30 a.m., at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Palmer and Larry Elliott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home Wednesday evening.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to St. Mary’s Hospice.
