J.W. Arnold Jr.

NICHOLSON – J.W. Arnold Jr., 87, died Sunday, July 18, 2010.

Born on September 21, 1922, in Jefferson, he was the son of the late John W. Arnold Sr. and Lillie Mae Nash Arnold. He was the former owner of Athens Bible Book Store for 35 years and was a member of the Redstone Methodist Church. Mr. Arnold was a veteran of the United States Army/Air Force serving during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Hale Arnold; daughter and son-in-law, DeMaris and David Hooper, Nicholson; and grandson, Micah Hooper, Nicholson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 20, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Mr. David Hooper officiating. The entombment will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens. Honored as pallbearers will be Kenneth Whelchel, Jeff Whelchel, Hopper Alexander, Homer Sims, Henry Asbury and Brian Duke. The family will receive friends Monday, July 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
