‘Dover’ Dover

COLBERT – Walter Guy “Dover” Dover, Jr., 65, died Friday, July 9, 2010.

A native of Oglethorpe County, he was the son of the late Walter Guy Dover Sr. and Marjorie Josephine Johnson Dover McCarty. He was the owner of Dover’s Garage. Mr. Dover was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chelsea Richardson and two sisters, Marjorie Drinkard and Rachael D. Inglett.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary Dover; children, Eddie Dover (Roxanne Richardson-Dover) and Wanda Tittle (Mike); brothers, Andy McCarty and Wayne McCarty; grandchildren, Zach Tittle, Courtney Tittle, Hayden Richardson, Michael Tittle and Mandy England.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 12, from the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. David Burt officiating. Burial was in Winterville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Holly Bales, Steve Quarles, Guy Powers, Curtis Daniels, Jason Booth, Paul Yearwood, Keith Fleeman and Hayden Richardson.

Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
