JEFFERSON - Louise V. Childress, 77, died Monday, July 5, 2010.
Born in Florence, Colo., she was the daughter of the late Richard Stratton and Louise Gardner Stratton.
She married Glenn W. Childress (1922 – 2001) on August 28, 1948. They moved from South Bend, Wash. to Boulder, Colo., after raising three children they moved to Arkansas, Ala. and settled in Georgia. She had attended Winder Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Winder First Baptist Church. She passed away in Christ on July 5, 2010.
Survivors include her loving children, son, Gary W. Childress, Fayetteville; daughters, Debbie Wright, Whiting, N.J. and Brenda Weatherford, Ore.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Shawna Serpe, Jeff Thompson, Annabelle Hamlow, Ben Weatherford, Kaitlin Weatherford, William and Brent Stoy, Ashlyn and Addison Thompson, Drew and Chance Hamlow and Fin Rooney; brother, Richard Stratton, Calif.; sisters, Claudia Atwood and Saibon M. Brunnemer, both of Colo.; step-brother, Darrell Trevarton; and step-sister, Roxanna Trevarton, both of Colo.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 10, 2010, from Smith Memory Chapel, with the Rev. Greg Moore officiating. Burial was in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
