‘Ronnie’ Poole

GILLSVILLE – Ronald “Ronnie” Michael Poole, 70, better known as “Cotton,” died Friday, July 2, 2010 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 19, 1940 in Gillsville, he ran “Cotton’s Grocery” for many years. He was a member of Gillsville Baptist Church and was well known in the community.

Survivors include his companion of over 25 years, Paulette Moody; her children, Mitchell and Sue Moody, Lorie and David Saylors, and Kenny and Brandy Moody: a brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Swayne Poole and Vivian Poole, Griffin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 5, from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home. Burial was in Gillsville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
