JEFFERSON - Helen Irene ‘MeMaw’ Chancey, 76, died Saturday, July 3, 2010.
Born in Monroe, she was the daughter of the late C.D. and Hattie Bradley Hall. Mrs. Chancey was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Chancey.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, John R. Chancey III and Kathleen Chancey, Dunnellon, Fla.; daughter, Nancy Howington, Jefferson; grandchildren, Skye Chancey, Shannon Hartley, Stacie Mroz, David Chancey, Eddie Howington, Katherine Chancey, C.J. Howington, and Tanya Howington; great-granchildren, Layne Chancey, Tyler Chancey, Will Hartley, Jack Mroz and Vaughn Mroz; brothers, Jack Hall, Commerce and Nathaniel Hall, Winder; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 5, from Smith Memory Chapel, with the Revs. John Burchfield and Hal Tapp officiating. Burial was in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
