ALTO – Patricia G. Cook, 86, died Thursday, July 1, 2010.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, on January 8, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Samuel and Oril Ellena Yates Gilmore. She was a United States Army Veteran having served during WWII obtaining the rank of Corporal. She had served as an administrative executive secretary and at age 54 became a licensed practical nurse. After retirement she served as a volunteer with Challenged Child and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cornelia and the Currahee Mountain Good Sams R.V. Camping Group. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother loved ones stated. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clinton Cook Sr.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Frazier, Elizabeth City, N.C.; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Marica Cook, Lula and Robert C. “Rusty” Cook Jr. and Mary Cook, Poinciana, Fla.; grandchildren, Clint Cook, Duluth, Lorrie Williams, Maryville, Ill., Jenny Parker, Troy, Ill., Lisa Frazier, Bergenfield, N.J. and Patricia Stone, Martinsburg, W.V.; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 10, at the First Baptist Church of Cornelia with the Rev. David Turner officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Cornelia, P.O. Box 96, Cornelia, GA 30531.
Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, is in charge of arrangements.
