WINDER – Mark C. Phillips, 56, died Monday, June 21, 2010.
He was the son of Shirley Phillips of McDonough and the late Warren Wesley Phillips. He was retired as an operations supervisor with 30 years of service from the US Postal Service in Clayton County. He attended various churches, where he enjoyed singing in the choir.
Survivors in addition to his mother include a son and daughter-in-law, Samuel M. and Katie Phillips, Pendergrass; twin brother, Michael B. Phillips, Alexandria, Va.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Timothy W. and Deborah Phillips, Lawrenceville, Chris P. and Teri Phillips, Suwanee, Steve W. and Julie Phillips, McDonough; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pamela P. and Gary Griffith, Suwanee, Paige and Tony Bright, McDonough; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 25, at 11 a.m., from the Winder First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry L. Tippens officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Carter Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
