HULL – Mary Eritha Cartledge, 92, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Winterville Assisted Living, where she had been a resident for the past four years.
A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Huge E. and Omie Glenn White. She was a member of the Gordon Chapel United Methodist Church, the Madison County Pilot Club and was retired as a secretary from R. W. Porterfield. Mrs. Cartledge was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Cartledge Jr.; and brothers, Robert White and William White.
Survivors include special family members, Randy and Becky Jones, Blake Jones and Samantha Jones; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Staff of Winterville Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 23, at 11 a.m. from Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville Chapel, with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Blake Jones, Charles Burkhalter Jr., Brent Burkhalter, Melvin Pierce, Ken Deal, Gene Lackey, Shawn Koch and Marvin Gravenor. Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Ashworth and Glenn Austin.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, June 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.
