‘Bammaw’ Simmons

ILA – Helen V. “Bammaw” Simmons, 82, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Marcille Fitzpatrick and Clifford Hubbard. Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Simmons; daughters, Evie Lee “Winnie” Fields and Gloria Thornton.

Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Woodall; 14 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 22, from the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home. Burial was in the Ila Cemetery in Ila.

Bridges Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
