CARLTON – Ronald “Ronnie” L. Collins Sr., 60, died Sunday, June 20, 2010.
A native of Savannah, he was the son of the late George Jackson Collins and Alma Rae Sumner Hartigan. He owned a business as a plumber and helped many people in the Elbert and Madison County areas. He was of the Baptist denomination. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Collins; and sister, Hazel Seabolt.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Collins, Carlton; children, Ronald “Ronnie” (Rhonda) Collins, Carlton, Shannon Collins Adams, Hull, Bryan (Dawn) Collins, Elberton, Dawn (Stuart) Collins Strickland, Carlton, and Paul (Rachel) Collins, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brothers, Andrew Collins, Ridgeland, S.C., Tom Collins, Pembrook; sisters, Carrie Ruth Williams, Metter, Geneva Green, Reidsville, Gloria Lawrence, Sandersville, and Sharon Mallot, Savannah; and grandchildren, Ashton, Colton, Jaydon, Devin, Danielle, Gage and Brooke.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 22, at 2 p.m., at New Town Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Black officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Monday, June 21, from 6 to 8 p.m.
