COMMERCE – Dorothy Marie Samples Sheriff, 70, died Monday, June 14, 2010, at the BJC Hospital in Commerce.
Born in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late Hoyt and Minerva Grizzle Samples. Mrs. Sheriff was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sheriff; a sister, Mildred Adams; and a brother, Jerry Samples.
Survivors include children, Susan and Russell King, Commerce, Cindy and David Lunsford, Royston, and Zenobia and George Moore, Westminster, S.C.; siblings, Lucy Brown, Homer, Elaine Magnuf, Gillsville, Inez Pethel and Kenneth Samples, both of Cumming, and Pat Samples, Gainesville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 17, at 3 p.m., from the Beaverdam Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, June 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. and at other times at the home of Susan and Russell King, 85 Blacks Creek Church Rd., Commerce.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
