Emma Jean Lewallen

MAYSVILLE – Emma Jean Lewallen, 69, died Monday, June 14, 2010, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Born in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Dave and Wortie Lee Pressley Evans. Mrs. Lewallen was preceded in death by her husband, Verdell Lewallen.

Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Lynn Sorrow, Danielsville; son, Billy Ray (Glenda) Parson, Commerce; sisters, Shirley Elrod, Gainesville, Joyce Carter, Knoxville, Tenn., Carolyn Master and Laverne Hutchin, both of Gillsville; brothers, Larry Evans, Dalton, and Ralph Evans, Commerce; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 16, at 3 p.m., from the Solid Rock Baptist church with the Revs. Swayne Carlan and Frank Spivey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Billy Parson.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
