ATHENS - Loma Olson, 99, died peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2010, surrounded by her family.
Born in rural Big Stone County, Minn., on May 28, 1911, she had made her home in Georgia with her daughter, Vonnie Zimmermn, and beloved son-in-law, Arlan, for the last 41 years. Mrs. Olson was preceded in death by her husband, Vernal Olson; a son, Roger; grandchild, Danny Olson; six brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include grandsons, Keith (Ashley) Zimmerman and Brad (Becky) Zimmerman; great-grandchildren, Sybil, Zachary, Abigail, Bryce and Olivia Zimmerman; and five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren in Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 9, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, with the Rev. Ray Finger officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prince Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund or St. Mary’s Hospice.
