JEFFERSON – Robert O. “Bob” Wilkins, 86, died Thursday, June 3, 2010.
Born on August 19, 1923, in Addison, Ala., he was the son of the late Henry Lee and Lillie Mae Johnson Wilkins. He was retired from the United States Air Force where he served in World War II and the Korean War. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as a field supervisor for the Northeast Georgia area with the George State Fire Marshalls Office. He also worked as a car dealer. Mr. Wilkins was preceded in death by brothers, Howard and Willard Wilkins.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Clozelle Wright Wilkins, Jefferson; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Sharon Wilkins, Jefferson; brother, Fred Wilkins, Addison, Ala.; aunt, Trixie Cobb, Addison, Ala.; sister-in-law, Vergie Wilkins Mashburn, Addison, Ala.; grandchildren, Casey and Corey Wilkins, Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 5, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Eric Shelton officiating. Burial will be in the Oconee Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Casey Wilkins, Corey Wilkins, Dwayne Wilkins, Mike Stover, Sandy Mayfield and David Mayfield.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, June 4, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
