NICHOLSON – Eugene “Ted” Wampler, 50, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at his residence.
Born on October 1, 1959, in Monroe County, Ind., he was the son of Eugene W. Wampler and Virginia (Bohall) Pittman. On May 20, 1978, he married Marilyn East and they shared 32 wonderful years together. He was formerly employed at Arvin Technical Center in Columbus, Ind., and at Bob Poynter Chevrolet in Seymour, Ind. He was looking forward to the birth of his first grandson in July, 2010.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (East) Wampler; son, Travis Wampler (Brande), Greenwood; father, Eugene W. Wampler (Peggy); mother, Virginia Pitman (George), all of Bloomington; two nieces raised as their own daughters, Crystal Scott and Courtney George; brothers, Eddie Wampler (Nancy), Bloomington, Fred Wampler, Moyie Springs, Ind.; sister, Alice Miller (Rusty), Spencer; mother-in-law, Maxine Andis (Thomas), Evansville; father-in-law, Virgil East, Norman; brother-in-law, Doug Hubbard, Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Hubbard, March 5, 2010; grandparents, Theodore and Ethel Wampler, Alva Lester and Pearl Bohall.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 1, at 10:30 a.m. from the United Pentecostal Faith Assembly on Fox Hollow Road with Pastors Nelson Lee, Harold Godsey and Bob Casey officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, May 31, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Mitchell Cemetery on Hunter’s Creek Rd.
