DANIELSVILLE – John William “Dodge” Brown, 92, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at the Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
Born in Franklin County on March 23, 1918, he was the son of the late Lonnie Carl and Sara Ethel Little Brown. He was a carpenter and was a member of the New Haven Holiness Church. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Smith Brown.
Survivors include sons, L.C. Brown and Don Brown, both of Danielsville, and Lee Brown, Auburn; daughters, Ophelia Myran Lewis, Auburn, Jeanette Cleveland and Kay Meadows, both of Danielsville, and Willie Herman, Lawrenceville; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 25, at 3 p.m., from the New Haven Holiness Church with the Revs. Ellis Cooper and Tracy Gipson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 24. The family is at the home of Katrina Castillo, 2165 Faye Carey Rd., Danielsville, GA 30633.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, is in charge of arrangements.
