Aubrey Joe Smith, 47, of Commerce, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at BJC Hospital in Commerce.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Bobby Farrell and Sally Brock Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Amy Marie Smith; a daughter, Pamela Jill Waldroup, Winterville; sisters, Brenda McDonald and Donna K. Smith, both of Commerce, Kathy Stephenson, Danielsville; one grandson; four nieces; one nephew; and one great-niece.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 17, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Gordon and Pastor Patsy Hayes officiating. Burial will be in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, July 16, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.

We knew Aubrey as a young man in his teens-being a teenager! And I'm glad to say that I had the pleasure to meet Aubrey again as an adult. He was quite a different person!! Aubrey grew up to be a fine man. So sorry for the loss, we will miss him.
