JEFFERSON – Jerry Lewis Griffin, 61, died Saturday, May 22, 2010.
Born on August 5, 1948, in Commerce, he was the son of the late Lewis Richard and Annie Sarah Fulghum Griffin. He was a member of the Rockwell Masonic Lodge#191 and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Mr. Griffin was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Janice Nell Harkins Griffin, Jefferson; sons and daughters-in-law, Gerry and Jenny Griffin, Jefferson, and Ricky and Angela Griffin, Bogart; step-mother, Verner Griffin, Maysville; a sister, Patsy Blalock Griffin, Commerce; grandchildren, Abbey, Eli, Hailey and Braxton; and numerous adopted children and adopted grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 24, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Kevin Page, Herman Brock and Jeff Bishop officiating. Burial was in the Jackson Memorial Park.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.
