CARLTON – Anna Laura Cooper, 88, died Friday, May 21, 2010.
A lifelong resident of Carlton, she was the daughter of the late Cody K. and Maude Mathews Smith. She was a retired supervisor with Comer Manufacturing Company and a lifelong member of Carlton Baptist Church. Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver David Cooper; and a brother, James C. Smith.
Survivors include daughters, Ann Hammond, Comer, and Barbara Brown, Carlton; sister, Mauline Drew, Carlton; brothers, Lester T. Smith and Walter Smith, both of Comer; grandchildren, Alicia Chapman and Tabby Bonner; great-grandchildren, Alec Bonner, Hayden Frey, Lexi Chapman and Berklee Bonner.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 22, at 3 p.m., from the Carlton Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Wilson and Marshall Tribble officiating. Burial will be in the Carlton Cemetery. The Loyalty Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, May 22, from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Carlton Perpetual Care Cemetery Fund in care of Betty Sweeney, Carlton.
