NICHOLSON – Gertrelle Cody Brown Tate, 77, died Tuesday May 18, 2010 at her residence.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Lula Peppers Cody. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Odis Tate, Nicholson; son, George Weyman Brown, Athens; daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Rick Coile and Marie and Jerry Pittman, Nicholson; sister, Latrelle Bennett, Maysville; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 20, at New Harmony Baptist Church with the Revs. Kenneth Dillard Sr. and Joe Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 19.
