BOWMAN – Ida Lou Alewine Almond, 98, died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston.
Born in Bowman on November 30, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Reese and Sarah Lou Moore Alewine. She was a retired lunch room worker and a memer of the Bowman Baptist Church. Mrs. Almond was preceded in death by her husband, Florence Hadan Almond.
Survivors include her son, Hubert Almond, Smyrna; daughter, Beth Brock, Bowman; sister, Rosa Lee Caudell, Royston, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 17, at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tony Smith and Rob Spivey officiating. Burial will be the Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral hour.
Flowers are optional and memorials may be made to the Bowman Baptist Church, 66 West Church Street, Bowman, GA 30624.
