STEPHENS – David Adair Wall Sr., 60, died Thursday, May 13, 2010.
A lifelong resident of Oglethorpe County, he was the son of the late William A. Wall Sr. and Ruth Hanford Wall. He was retired from Atlanta Gas Light Company following 37 years of service and was employed by the Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, loved ones stated.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Hemphill Wall; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Brian Lance, Crawford, son and daughter-in-law, David A. Wall Jr. and Selina Wall, Ila; brother and sister-in-law, William A. Wall Jr. and Carrie Wall, Athens; sister, Mable Wall-West, Arnoldsville; grandchildren, Brooke Adams and Mason A. Wall; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 16, at Salem Baptist Church with the Revs. Brett Mask and Terry Kenney officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Cunningham, Ben Eberhart, Tim Hayes, Jonathan Hemphill, Doug Houser, Jason Southers, Clay Stevens, Brad Turner, Stan Wall and Russ West.
Honorary pallbearers were employees of the Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Department.
Lord and Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
