Fannie Brooks Chastain, 94, of Belton, S.C., died Friday, July 11, 2008, at the Hospice House of the Upstate.
She was born in Madison County on December 10, 1913, the daughter of the late Robert and Sara Hall Brooks. She was retired, having worked in the textile industry, and was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. Mrs. Chastain was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Chastain; a son, Robert Chastain; and granddaughter, Regina Chastain.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Linda Chastain, Stockbridge, and Tommy and LeNelle Chastain, Belton, S.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and David Jones, Mauldin, S.C., Jane and Jimmy Porterfield and Sue Chastain, all of Danielsville; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 13, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Carr officiating. Burial was in the Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church cemetery.
