‘Hook’ Howington

JEFFERSON – Mary Sue “Hook” Howington, 87, died Saturday, April 24, 2010.

Born on June 4, 1922, in Jefferson, she was the daughter of the late Hoyt and Nell Anthony Howington. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist denomination. Miss Howington was preceded in death by brothers, Aubrey “Big Boy,” Buddy, Clifford and Curtis Howington.

Survivors include brothers, Billy Howington, Jack Howington and Ronnie Howington, all of Jefferson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 26, at the graveside in the Cabin Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jesse Mealor officiating. Nephews served as pallbearers.

Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.
